Can you believe it?!

I WROTE A BOOK!

It's true! And I have so much to tell you. Because, honestly, this book isn't about me. It's about my mama. Her name is Adaline Gray, and once you read this story, you'll learn just how powerful unconditional love is. If there’s one thing the world needs right now, it's my mama’s courage, humility, and grace.

So stick with me as I reveal so much more about this incredible story and my mission to not only honor my mama, but challenge the way our society views aging and caring for our elderly.

While the grief has been hard and downright heart-wrenching, it's also given me the ability to share my mama’s story with the world. I hope you’ll join me on this journey of love, loss, and meaning—tears, laughs, and all!

MAKE WAY, YA'LL!

I can't even believe I'm saying this... but here we are. My book has officially launched.

It's such an honor to be able to share this story with you.

If there's one thing I've learned from my mama, it's that everyone deserves to be loved and respected. My intention with this book is that you feel validated, encouraged, and inspired to look at your world with a new lens of compassion. I know that's quite the spectrum of emotions, but this book holds them all.

While going through this process, I've felt everything from anger to gratitude. It’s a beautiful reminder that all these experiences—the good, the bad, and the ugly—are what make us human. You can’t have love without loss; you can’t have triumph without hurt.

And you certainly can’t have the grace and compassion my mama did without a few funny stories along the way.

WAIT! WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Truthfully? I've never fully known what my purpose was in life beyond raising a big, beautiful, and God-filled family. When I started writing this book, I was just trying to honor my mama and make sense of my experiences. But now, it’s become so much more. This message has become a calling.

I believe God uses our most painful experiences in life as a catalyst to prepare us for our purpose. The pain of losing my mother has sparked a wave of action that has been soul-activating and Spirit-led.

The emotions that started as anger—anger that my mama, Adaline, suffered the way she did after living a life of selfless service to others—fueled me to bring awareness to our broken systems. Through my mother’s experience, I witnessed firsthand how easily our society dismisses and discards some of the most vulnerable among us. This book is about speaking up and giving a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves.

My mother’s story is meant to shine a light on the world, just as Adaline Gray did. In the end, Grief and Grit(s) advocates for the elderly and reminds us that we deserve to be treated with dignity throughout every stage of life.

Oh, and get this...

I ALMOST CHICKENED OUT!

You have no idea the amount of fear that I've had to walk through in order to write this book. I couldn't have done it without the grace of God. The Holy Spirit has continued to guide me every step of the way.

I'm incredibly grateful to have come this far and have had the opportunity to reclaim Mama’s story—beginning, middle, and end—for a greater good.

I've learned so much about myself through this process, including some especially difficult lessons on surrendering and truly trusting the source of my success. If you’ve never met me before, one thing you should know from the get-go is that I’m a planner through and through! So attempting a project like this, one with so many barriers and variables, has been a huge journey of “letting go and letting God.”

Thank you for being a part of this experience. Thank you for your love, your compassion, and your support. And I want to thank you in advance for reading my words and having the courage to join in this discussion.

TO PUT IT SIMPLY....

THIS BOOK WILL COMFORT YOUR MIND, HEART, AND SOUL.

We’re all aging, and so are our loved ones. If you’re looking to feel seen in the struggle of caring for, fighting for, and honoring elderly loved ones, I want you to know that I see you.

I could never have imagined what a powerful bonding experience it was when my mama became my baby, as helpless and dependent as a child. There’s nothing like it, and there’s no “right answers” or instruction manual. (Trust me. If there were, I would have found it.)

But there are stories, bonds, and shared experiences—an invitation to a loving community dedicated to this discussion and making change.
